~\5 months left/~ Week 80

Good morning to those who might read this email this morning!

What a wonderful time of year! My mother is the best. She sent me a Christmas tree and some gifts to put under the tree. It looked nice and cute! She is so good ❤ we spent our Christmas over at a couple of members homes. We played spikeball, basketball, ping pong, played games, watched movies, and ate loads of food! Geez do I feel bigger!

Thank you to all who sent me Christmas cards, notes, and letters. It's so thoughtful and kind!

I am looking forward to the New Year. It will be exciting to start the new year with an emphasis in Doctrine and Covenants (modern day revelations). I'm excited! Make sure you all get your come follow me manuels!!

Jesus Christ is the center of everything we do as missionaries. He lights the pathway that we are striving to follow. Now not everyday as a missionary is easy, but it is quite fun to read the scriptures, have it make sense, and then apply those teachings in some way shape or form. Just know that I believe in Christ. I know he lives because of the experiences I have had thus far in my life. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and allows for further understanding than what the Bible gives. These two books work together to complete the whole story and history necessary for us to succeed in our lives. We have a living prophet, and he has blessed my life.

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe new year!

CHRISTmas (👈get it)- Week 79

Good morning family and friends! Merry Christmas! I hope you've gotten all your shopping done! You are running out of time if you haven't 😅

I have been reading the story of Alma and Amulek. These two men taught with power and authority and it shook the people's souls! I have really enjoyed this Christmas season because it has been so easy to talk about good things all the time.

I have heard that tonight there will be a special star in the sky🌟 that will shine brighter than normal. How cool is that! 2 planets will line up together and it will just glow ✨ I believe in miracles!

I have heard a lot of friends/acquaintances getting a call saying they will be returning back to their original assignments! Many of them are going back to Chile. What a blessing for me it has been to serve with so many faithful missionaries!

My last thought is this, surround yourself with friends and people who inspire you to do and be good. Don't let yourself get caught away in some of the crazy distractions that Satan is throwing at you. Be strong!

I love life! And I believe in Christ. He is my king.

¡Different Email This Week! ⚠️READ⚠️- Week 78

I feel like when missionaries have been serving for over a year they just start to say the same stuff in there weekly email. Let's see if this weeks is a little different! This week I wanted to give a missionaries perspective on life.

There are many different aspects in one's life. You've got education, marriage, family, profession, and anything else that comes with living.
Before my mission, I didn't know or care enough to really pay attention to the things in my near future. As a missionary, I've learned the goodness of looking into the future, and making a plan to fulfill the goals I have.

Missionaries are "set a part from the world" which means we aren't focused on the things of the world. The emphasis is that we are focused on the task at hand (inviting/serving others) and we put forth the effort to show God we are willing to bless His children.

Many say that a mission is the best 2 years of one's life. I would disagree and say these 2 years are a preparatory state that gives me the knowledge to overcome some of the trials and successes in the rest of my life.

Missionaries always seem to be happy, I personally think that is because they study the scriptures, especially a book called "The Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ". Missionaries find themselves praying all the time! Which allows them to open their eyes and see unexpected experiences throughout the day to bless others.

I have learned that in life, I need to be a blessing to every person I come into contact with. We are ALL on different levels in our spiritual and physical progression. And so I can't compare myself in any degree to anyone! You just can't do that.

Unfortunately, we fail in many things we do as missionaries. We don't normally commit sins that would prevent us from progressing, but these small or big sins allow us to use the Atonement of Jesus Christ in a way we had never used before. Christ's Atonement makes more sense to me now that I've studied the 4 Gospels in the Bible, and after I've started to understand tendencies or recurring problems in the Book of Mormon Another Testement of Jesus Christ and how they had to overcome their battles and challenges.

Through it all a missionary in his or her life, recognizes more the love a Heavenly Father has for him or her and for the world. A missionary wakes up in the morning with a desire to find those who need a little pick me up, or someone who needs a shoulder to lean on. We thrive off of leaving someone happier than how we found them.

I am doing very well here in Scottsdale. I enjoy the reality that I am truly only serving Jesus Christ. In the new youth album in the church for 2021. The theme song says, "There is a work to do. That's been prepared for you, long before the world was made. You have the strength you need to cross the stormy seas. That you will find along the way. He is your refuge from the storm. And you will never be alone."

I hope you all can wake up and have a desire to serve your brothers and sisters each day. Because God needs you in this Great Work❤

Colored Paint- Week 77

Holy moly! I loved this week!

Elder Calvo and I will be staying together for another one! 8 months together is a LONG time! I sure love him! He really is helping me grow and become a better man!

We were able to have many crazy experiences this last week! We ended up out and about talking with people and it was so cool to see God put us in the right places at the right times.

As we had planned we wanted to go and drop some flyers off at some restaurants. As we were leaving this one guy came out of the restaurant and was being super sarcastic with us! He was telling us about this guy who works across the street who speaks Spanish and was asking for us to go and visit him. He was lying and was trying to waste our time. In moments like that sometimes I just want to be super disrespectful and make a smart comment but we didn't and just got in our car and drove to the next location. As we were out and about, we found several opportunities to talk with people who needed help in that moment exactly! I firmly believe that if we didn't respond to that guy in a positive way God might not have allowed us to be instruments in His hands.

I know that God needs you all to be instruments in His hands. But how we act or react throughout normal day to day life really does show God who we are and what we are trying to become!

I love you all so much! Have a wonderful week!
