Blue Camry 2020- Week 67

Hello everyone! Today has been so awesome! We have already played spike ball for a few hours and cleaned the house! Now it's time for TopGolf lol.

We were able to see so many miracles this last week. I was privelaged to go on exchanges with Elder Sagers and we taught 3 lessons that day and our last lesson was with an inactive member and 2 others who aren't members. I absolutely loved the wonderful spirit I felt in that lesson. We just all clicked and had a good time!

The Spanish branch I'm over is up and running and I have loved working with the 3-6 families we have to work with. Our Heavenly Father is blessing us and we can see the miracles drip in from day in and day out.

I love being a missionary and would encourage all of you to watch General Conference this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. We get to hear the Lord through His servants. Who wouldn't want to be there.?

I love you all so much!!

Branch Organization 📖- Week 66

Hello everyone, what a historic week it was for me and my companion! The little branch we are in finally got organized! And boy oh boy is it fun to have someone to talk to for direction and guidance. I imagine our Heavenly Father would just absolutely love it if we constantly ask Him for help. Prayers are so cool! Y'all should do them 😃

So we live in an apartment with 2 other Elders and just outside our apartment is another apartment of 4 elders so it is awesome seeing the other elders so much!

Okay everyone! We are going to top golf for the 3rd time in a row today! There is a member who takes us and it's cool to have conversations with him. We invited someone we meet through Facebook to come play with us, so hopefully that works out! Haha

I love feeling the Spirit of God. There was a devotional that Elder Bednar did with teachers from BYU and they talked about personal revelation. With general conference coming up it really changed my perspective. He said personal revelation isn't something that occasionally happens to people in moments. But that it's a continuous feeling of that same Spirit for days and weeks and months. He said we shouldn't be worried about when we feel the spirit but more when we feel it leave.

I love learning truths from my leaders and prophets. Its encouraging to know that as I make a difference every day God will accept my efforts. Don't give up and turn to prayer for help.

You all are so loved! ❤

Elder C. Ricks

Via Linda Spanish Branch

Carson called us and told us he was getting a special calling and President Cox wanted him to call us and make us aware. He was interviewed by his Stake President and President Cox and would be called to Second Councilor in the Via Linda branch he has been a part of helping create.

We were also invited to join via ZOOM to watch the meeting on Sunday. It was so special (even though we couldn't understand most of it) to be able to watch Elder Ricks bear testimony of what he knows is true. President Cox talked about needing his best missionaries there for the branch.

What a great day for the people in Scottsdale to have their own Spanish branch organized!

We recorded his testimony and he is going to translate it for us!

Via Linda Branch- Week 65

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another weekly report! This week was so amazing!

We were able to give a training to all of the leadership in the stake and I loved it! Our mission president was also on the call and he shared some thoughts with his wife and I loved being able to learn and share some thoughts on member missionary work as well! We had a mission leadership council this week (in PERSON!!) First time we've done anything in person since the lock down!

We also were able to be apart of a baptism! She is so amazing and we felt such an incredible spirit as she bore her first testimony as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.

I love this gospel and it feels my soul with joy because of its teachings. I will forever be indebted to my brother and Savior Jesus Christ. His Atoning sacrifice has saved me through my efforts to repent and become clean. I know that all of you can also become clean from sin as you repent and come unto Him, change for the better and help others along the way.

This week was a good one. I hope yours was too. Something I've learned is I can't just wait for good days to come. I have to make each day a good day based on the things we've got going on. If I don't do that I find myself unhappy and ungrateful for the day. So make each day good by changing your attitude or putting a smile on your face.

I love you all and am constantly thinking about you.

Top Golf!- Week 64

Hey everyone! It has been another great week working in the Lords Vineyard.

I have loved reading from the Book of Mormon this week. I've been reading in 2nd Nephi which talks a lot about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. This consists of 3 events
1. Suffering and torment in the garden of Gethsemane and anything before Christ died on the cross
2. Physical Death on the cross
3. Ressurection of Spirit and Body

Because of this Sacred event each one of us will live again and receive our bodies again! What a miracle.

I love serving a mission right now. It's amazing and I love helping others which in reality helps me grow much more than any one I will ever teach.

Keep the faith and hard work in riteous things!

Love,
Elder C. Ricks
